Elsa’s Kopje was named after Elsa the
lioness who was made famous by George and Joy
Adamson in the film ‘Bron Free’.
Situated on a Kopje, meaning small hill, the
lodge camouflages itself into the hillside of
Mughwango Hill, George Adamson’s original
camp in the Meru National Park about four hours
by road from Nairobi.
Elsa’s Kopje comprises nine en-suite
open-plan cottages – six with king size
beds and two with twin beds. Set slightly apart
from the main lodge, Elsa’s Private House
is made up of a double and a twin with shared
sitting room and veranda and private swimming
pool.
Every cottage is uniquely designed and crafted
from the natural features of the hill. The main
lodge also has its own pool with a view of the
Meru plains. Activities include guided bush
walks, day and night game drives in 4x4 vehicles,
bush breakfasts, day excursions to the Tana
River with packed lunches, bush sundowners,
line fishing (catfish and barbell) and massages.
