Set in some of Kenya’s most dramatic
scenery, Ol Donyo Wuas lies in the foothills
of the Chyulu Range, halfway between the Tsavo
and Amboseli national parks and just a 45 minutes
flight from Nairobi. Accommodation consists
of seven individual cottages, built from local
materials, with spectacular views of Kilimanjaro.
Each cottage has en-suit bathroom with solar
electricity and hot water. Two cottages have
an extra bedroom for guests with young children.
Ol Donyo Wuas has exclusive use of over 300,000
acres of Maasai-owned wilderness, providing
ample opportunities for cultural interaction,
horse riding, open vehicle game drives, night
game drives and walking in the Chyulu Hills.
A wide range of wild animals can be viewed,
including elephants, cheetah, gazelle, giraffe,
hyena, jackal, leopard, lion, ostrich, rhino,
wildebeest, and zebra. Ol Donyo Wuas has been
highly recommended in the British Airways Tourism
for Tomorrow Awards for its community projects
and echo-friendly practices. No age restrictions,
but parental supervision required for under
