021: NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK |
The tour starts
at 2.00pm.
This unique wildlife sanctuary is just a few
kilometres from Nairobi’s bustling city
centre, but despite its proximity, different
species of mammals can be found there, including
four of the Big Five. The tour also includes
a visit to the animal orphanage at the park
gate. The tour returns to the city centre
by sundown. Private tours can be organised
in the morning.

Depart in the
morning and afternoon. Drive towards Ngong
Hills and pass Ngong Village to the Karen
Blixen Museum, for many years her home. Later
proceed to the Giraffe Centre to see and feed
the famous Rothschild Giraffe and her family.

024: BOMAS OF KENYA (2 HOURS) |
A boma is a homestead
and just a few kilometres from the city, numerous
homesteads reflecting Kenya’s cocktail
of cultures have been faithfully re-created

025: LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK (1 DAY) |
Lake Nakuru lies
in the volcano-strewn Rift Valley, one of
the shares of 8 lakes, which stretch the length
of Kenya from Tanzania to Ethiopia. The 160
kilometres drive from Nairobi passes through
highlands farms of the Kikuyu people before
descending an escarpment into the dramatic
landscape of the Rift. Lunch is taken in Nairobi;
a stop is made at Lake Nakuru where tea is
served among the fever trees and where bird
watchers will be delighted with the fantastic
array of bird life.

026: AMBOSELI EXPRESS (1 DAY) |
Amboseli National
Park lies within the shadow of the mighty
Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain.
Only nature in all the majesty could create
such a backdrop of the wildlife pageant found
at Amboseli. Game is seen on much of the route
to the park, which crosses ochre plains where
Masai tend their cattle in an age-old tradition.
Lunch is taken at the lodge in the park and
is followed by another game drive where lion,
elephant and the splendid cheetah are likely
to be seen. Return to Nairobi in good time
for dinner.

027: MT. LONGONOT /NAIVASHA (1 DAY) |
Depart Nairobi
at 08:00hrs
Drive to the Rift Valley Escarpment and catch
a glimpse of the beautiful escarpment. Arrive
at Mt. Longonot National Park to start hiking
to the top and round the crater if time and
your energy permits. (the hike up and round
takes around two-three hours) Picnic lunch.
Depart for Lake Naivasha and its environs.
Enjoy a boat ride and view hippos, buffaloes
etc. other activities include biking.
